Saudi Arabia NT close to landing Roberto Mancini

Former Italy boss Roberto Mancini is close to being appointed the new manager of the Saudi Arabia national team.

Mancini’s exit from the Italian national side came out of the blue and led to an ugly war of words between himself and FIGC President Gabriele Gravina, who has already appointed former Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti as a replacement for the ex-Manchester City boss.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TMW) now state that Mancini is close to joining Saudi Arabia as their manager and he is preparing to take charge of the national side. He will lead the side at least till the FIFA World Cup in 2026 and his appointment is likely to be only a few days away from being announced.

Mancini has already signed a contract with the side and is expected to earn about €25 million to €30 million per season during his time with Saudi Arabia.
