SERIE A PREVIEW | Atalanta v Napoli

Serie A action returns tomorrow as Atalanta take on Napoli in Walter Mazzarri’s return to The Azzurri dugout.

Mazzarri takes charge with Napoli facing a difficult patch of one win in their last four games. This perilous form was ultimately what made Aurelio De Laurentiis sack Rudi Garcia.

Atalanta on the other hand are in good form, having lost just twice in the last two months. As the table currently stands, Napoli are fourth and Atalanta fifth. Tomorrow’s clash could be an early indicator as to who will clinch the last Champions League spot.

Napoli do however have higher ambitions than just getting a place in next season’s Champions League and going into this campaign they would have been targeting a successful defence of their Scudetto.

As things currently stand, with the Azzurri ten points behind leaders Inter, that challenge looks a step too far. They will however be aiming for a comfortable top four finish and confidence could be reinstalled back into the camp with a win tomorrow.
