Serie A PREVIEW | Roma v Bologna

Roma resume their Serie A campaign on Wednesday, as they face Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico. Jose Mourinho will lock horns with his protege Thiago Motta.

The Giallorossi didn’t have the greatest of ends to the previous half of the Serie A campaign before the World Cup, as they lost to Lazio and then went on to be held to draws by Sassuolo and Torino. Currently seventh in the table, Mourinho’s side have been rather inconsistent in the campaign.

Bologna, on the other hand, are at 11th in the table and are only eight points behind the Giallorossi. Even though they lost 6-1 to Inter in their second last game before the World Cup break, Motta’s men picked up an impressive 3-0 win over Sassuolo.

The Rossoblu were unbeaten against Roma last season, as they managed to beat them 1-0 at home and held them to a goalless draw at the Olimpico. The Giallorossi last beat them in April 2021, implying that Mourinho is yet to beat the Emilia-Romagna during his time at the Capital side.
