Serie A side Cagliari pushing to sign Yerry Mina

Newly promoted Cagliari have made positive initial contact with defender Yerry Mina.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Sardinian based outfit are positive of a deal being done as the player is seemingly open to the idea of moving to Italy to play in Serie A.

The Colombian centre back is a free agent after he left Premier League side Everton upon the expiry of his contract at the end of June.

Cagliari manager Claudio Ranieri is believed to be keen on signing the player to add some steel and experience to a back line that triumphed over Bari with a last minute winner in the Serie B play off final to book their immediate return to the top flight.

Mina is vastly seasoned veteran and boasts 40 caps for his national side holds the record for most goals scored by a defender at a World Cup when scored three in the 2018 edition.
