Starting Line-ups | Empoli v Juventus

Juventus will aim to continue their rebuilding job and climb the Serie A table when they face rock-bottom Empoli tonight at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.

Juventus approach this match on the back of a well-fought 1-1 draw against Bologna. Lewis Ferguson opened the scoring in the 24th minute and gave his side the lead by slotting the ball home from a through pass of Joshua Zirkzee. Juventus came close to levelling in the 54th minute when Dusan Vlahovic volleyed the ball into the goal but it was soon ruled out following a VAR check. Despite getting his initial goal cancelled by VAR, the Serbian striker netted the equaliser in the 80th minute after heading home the ball from Samuel Iling-Junior’s cross. The Bianconeri will look to showcase a comfortable performance tonight and grab the full three points from the game.

Meanwhile, Empoli head into this match after enduring two defeats from their opening two fixtures of the league. They received an early shock at the start of the new campaign when they lost 2-1 to Citadella in the Coppa Italia despite taking an early lead through Francesco Caputo. Losses to Monza and Verona have made the Tuscan outfits sit rock bottom in the league standings but they will aim to grab at least a point against Juventus on their home soil.

Here are the starting line-ups for the match:

Empoli (4-2-3-1): Berisha; Beresezynski, Walukiewicz, Luperto, Pezzella; Fazzini, Marin; Maleh, Baldanzi, Cambiaghi; Caputo.

Juventus (3-5-2): Perin; Gatti, Bremer, Danilo; Kostic, Rabiot, Locatelli, Miretti, Mckennie; Chiesa, Vlahovic.
