Stats highlight Milan’s huge injury crisis this season

So far this season, Milan have been left wrecked by injuries in the squad and the pattern repeated itself when the Rossoneri lost to Borussia Dortmund yesterday in the Champions League.

Malick Thiaw trudged off after what looked like a bad hamstring injury and Milan ended the game with Rade Krunic playing at centre-back, as Dortmund beat them 3-1 and all but knocked them out of the competition in the group stages.

So far this season, Milan have picked up over 20 injuries and as of now, they have only one centre-back fit and that is Fikayo Tomori. Thiaw, Simon Kjaer, Pierre Kalulu and young Marco Pellegrino are all out of action for now due to injuries and a majority of them are actually muscle injuries. Even Mattia Caldara remains out of action for the club.

In fact, the Rossoneri have picked up a total of 27 injuries this season and 17 of them have been muscle injuries, which says a lot about the situation at the club right now.

More than that, club star Rafael LeĂŁo himself is out of action and he too is nursing a hamstring injury.
