Stats that show how excellent Victor Osimhen has been in Serie A this season

Runaway title contenders Napoli have enjoyed an incredible first half of the season, with much of their success due to star striker Victor Osimhen who has finally this season got his flowers and is being recognised as one of Europes best number 9’s.

But just how impressive has he been? Using stats from FBRef.com, we will explore some of the most eye-catching stats.

Firstly, Osimhen’s goal contributions per game is immaculate, scoring 10 and assisting two in just 12 starts. These numbers are insanely good and its important to remember that while the cheat code Erling Harland might be breaking the system, 10 goals in 12 is a terrific return.

This record has left Osimhen averaging 0.83 goals per game, while he averages 0.17 assists per game. Together, this shows that Osimhen contributes to a goal every game which is incredibly impressive.

Osimhen’s goalscoring has also became more clinical this season, as he has out performed his expected goals (xG) substantially, which is different to his previous seasons which he either underperformed or achieved similar to his xG.

This demonstrates the evolution of Osimhen into a top striker, and bodes well for his continued goal scoring. On current form Osimhen would end the season on 30 goals, should he play every game in the league.

Osimhen has been involved in 31% of Napoli’s goals in their high scoring return of 39 so far, which is the most in the league.
