Milan boss Stefano Pioli has expressed regret about the performance the Rossoneri put in against Salernitana, as they were held to a 2-2 draw.
Milan did go ahead through Fikayo Tomori but goals from Federico Fazio and Antonio Candreva made sure that they had to come from behind to get all three points. Tomori trudged off injured after Candrevaโs goal and in the 90th minute, Luka Jovic tapped home from close range to equalise.
Milanโs inconsistencies in the season continued with the draw, as they went further away from the league leaders Inter and after the game, Pioli spoke to DAZN (via TMW) about the game he expressed regret about the showing.
He said: โIt leaves us with regrets, like many times this season. It wasnโt easy to break the deadlock and we did it, then we made mistakes that we canโt afford. In the end we recovered and got a positive result, but this is not the performance we wanted to put in.โ
Pioli also spoke about the inconsistencies in the clubโs performances this season, saying: โA combination of things, but if these situations are repeated, mentality becomes important. We need more attention, more intensity and more grip on marking. Many things that take important points away from us in the standings. We have less and less confidence, largely due to demerits of ours and this is not good.โ
The Milan boss also spoke about Tomoriโs injury, stating: โItโs difficult, honestly there are a lot of them. Fik was very well, itโs a problem that needs to be remedied quickly and which sees us in difficulty.โ
