Tottenham boss Antonio Conte’s Serie A return remains complicated

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is said to be on the verge of being sacked by the London giants but his return to Serie A is quite complicated, Gianluca di Marzio has confirmed.

Reports in England have already been suggestive of the fact that Conte is due to be sacked during the ongoing international break and Ryan Mason is expected to take interim charge of things at Tottenham. Conte’s future post-Tottenham currently remains uncertain, even though he has been linked with the likes of Juventus, Inter and Roma.

Gianluca di Marzio recently spoke to Kelbet and he revealed that a return to Italy for the ex-Inter boss remains complicated because of his financial demands and the financial situation of Serie A clubs.

Di Marzio stated: “It is difficult to say because not even Conte knows about his future. First of all, he is used to earning a high salary in Serie A. If he wants to earn a Premier League salary, it will have to be from Inter, Juventus or Roma.

“No Italian or Serie A coach earns that much. If he wants to return to Serie A, he would have to earn less. He is in no hurry to have a team to coach and it depends on what team needs a coach like Conte.”

Conte has already managed two major Italian sides – Inter and Juve. Jose Moourinho’s position at Roma is not certain and he could leave the Giallorossi, if the club doesn’t qualify for Champions League football next season. Maurizio Sarri’s position at Lazio is also uncertain, with the Italian seeking guarantees from the club regarding transfers. It remains to be seen if any openings emerge for Conte.
