Tottenham Hotspur close to sealing move for Empoli’s Guglielmo Vicario

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are close to reaching an agreement with Empoli to sign goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Vicario has been linked with a move to a host of clubs in Italy but it seems as if Spurs have trumped the other clubs in the race for the Italian.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that a verbal agreement has been reached between the Azzurri and the Lilywhites for a fee of €20 million. Empoli will also earn some bonuses on top of the transfer fee for the goalkeeper.

Empoli are now waiting for a written offer from Spurs between today and tomorrow to accept the move and sell the Italian. This will be the most profitable sale in Empoli history so far.

Inter have been linked with a move for Vicario but they would have moved for him only if Andre Onana would have left, with the Cameroonian having been linked with a move to Manchester United.
