Victor Osimhen returns to Napoli training

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has edged ever closer to returning to action for the Partenopei this season.

Osimhen hasn’t featured for the club since last month, when the striker picked up an injury during international duty and was ruled out for a month. In the meantime, Osimhen has seen Napoli lose manager Rudi Garcia and Walter Mazzarri has returned to the club on a short-term deal.

Mazzarri oversaw Napoli’s training session game against Juve Stabia earlier today and while Osimhen didn’t feature, he returned to individual training for the first time since his injury. The Nigerian did individual work in the gym and also trained individually on the pitch, as he steps up his recovery from the muscle issue.

Napoli will look to recover from their 1-0 loss to Empoli in their next game, as they will take on Atalanta, who will provide a stiff test to Mazzarri, who will manage his first game for Napoli in a bit less than ten years.
