Zlatan Ibrahimović nearing Milan return in some capacity

Milan legend Zlatan Ibrahimović could return to the club in some capacity and talks are being held for the same.

The Swede had retired from the game at the end of last season in what an emotional moment for the striker, who had won the Scudetto with the Rossoneri during his second stint at the club. Recently, Zlatan was at the Milanello alongside Stefano Pioli before the club’s Champions League tie against Newcastle United.

Sky Italia state that Ibra met Milan owner Gerry Cardinale in a hotel in the centre of Milan yesterday and the meeting has been described only as ‘exploratory’. But there is a feeling that work is being done for Ibra to return to Milan in some capacity. Plans are being explored about the Swede’s future.

Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani wants Ibra to stay at Milan in a corporate role but slowly, Zlatan’s return to Milan is taking shape and it remains to be seen in what form that would happen.
