Antonio Conte on Napoli transfers: โ€œAsk the club, not meโ€

Napoli boss Antonio Conte has urged the press to speak to the club about the transfers as he has no control abuot what is going on.

The Partenopei lost 3-0 to Verona today in what was a shocking performance. While they were decent in the first half, things fell apart in the second half and Verona carved through them on the transition, scoring three past them on the counter-attack.

Conte had some words to say about the clubโ€™s transfer window, with Victor Osimhen still at the club and his stay blocking the potential transfers that the club have planned.

Conte was asked about Osimhenโ€™s situation and Napoliโ€™s transfers by Sky (via TMW) and he said: โ€œThis is a question you should ask the club and not me. I see that Osimhen has trained separately since the retreat. You should ask the club, absolutely not me. I said it straight away, I was a spectator on this matter. But beyond a single player you definitely need to have a different attitude, with more personality, more desire.โ€

Romelu Lukaku remains the clubโ€™s key target as a replacement for Osimhen and the Belgian also wants to move to the club as he looks to play under Conte again.

But till the time Osimhen doesnโ€™t depart, he remains a Chelsea player and Napoli clearly lack a physical striker.
