Premier League side Arsenal are scouting Atalanta forward Mateo Retegui.
According to a report by Calcio Mercato, Arsenal scouts were present in Switzerland last night during Atalantaโs Champions League match versus Young Boys to probe Mateo Reteguiโs performance. The Italian strikerโs brace in the match is expected to send a clear message to The Gunners that they are gunning for the right player.
La Dea have set a price tag of โฌ45 million for Retegui as they aim to make a profit on their purchase from Genoa last summer. The 25-year-old has become a first choice for Luciano Spallettiโs line-up for Italyโs matches and he has seen a meteoric rise in value since arriving at Genoa from Tigre.
Serie A sides Napoli and Juventus are also in the race for Retegui but it is set to be a tough transfer battle with their Premier League counterparts, who possess significant financial firepower.
