Arsenalโs move for Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori has slowed down, as they continue to look to sign the defender.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Arsenalโs talks for the Azzurri star have โfrozenโ for now, as Calafiori will now be part of Bolognaโs training camp in Valles under Vincenzo Italiano. This will slow down Arsenalโs pursuit of the defender, with the main also being Baselโs 50 percent sell-on clause.
This is making Bologna haggle over the price even though they were previously said to demand about โฌ50 million to sell the defender. The Rossoblu also need funds to sign a replacement for Calafiori and they are keen to have enough resources to sign the right players, on top of paying the 50 percent of the sale amount to the Swiss side.
Mats Hummels is a potential target but for his wage demands, Bologna would want a younger player. Sinaly Diomandรฉ is also a potential target and Arsenalโs Jakub Kiwior has also been announced, but the Rossoblu havenโt quite gone forward with that proposal, as they look to sort out Calafioriโs future.
