Bologna’s Lewis Ferguson sustains ACL injury, will miss Euros

Serie A side Bologna have confirmed that Lewis Ferguson is to be out for a few months with an ACL injury.

An official statement from Bologna confirmed an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury sustained by attacking midfielder Lewis Ferguson.

The Scottish international underwent a medical examination today and the results indicated an ACL injury for him. The recovery time for this kind of injury takes around nine months and he is expected not to play for the club until the next mid-season.

The statement affirmed that the player will undergo an operation in the next few days and then they will be able to publish the expected recovery time.

This setback for Ferguson turns away all the interest from other clubs, who were hoping to send a bid this summer for his signature.

The 24-year-old has 34 appearances for Bologna this season across all competitions, scoring six goals and registering three assists. He joined the club last season and has been growing his role inside the team since then.
