Details emerge as Roma seal Tommaso Baldanzi move

Serie A giants Roma have sealed a move for Empoli’s Tommaso Baldanzi and some financial details of the move have now emerged.

Roma had been pursuing the move for some days and despite limited time remaining in the window to close, they seem to have sealed the deal.

Sky Italia state that Baldanzi is already in Rome ahead of a move. The final documents are being exchanged between the two clubs and the move will be confirmed and announced tomorrow, after Baldanzi undergoes a medical with the Giallorossi.

While it initially seemed as if it would be a loan deal, it will be a permanent deal for the Italian, who arrives on a permanent basis. Empoli will earn €10 million from the sale plus bonuses of €5 million. They also have a sell-on clause of 20 percent included in the deal.

Baldanzi will not be included in Roma’s UEFA squad due to the squad they currently have, but he will be a key part of Daniele de Rossi’s side and would play regularly.
