Empoli set to sack manager Aurelio Andreazzoli

Serie A side Empoli seem set to sack manager Aurelio Andreazzoli after a series of disappointing results for the Azzurri.

Empoli are currently 19th in the table and they have won only three games in the entire season. They recently lost 2-0 to Lazio and it seems as if the end of Andreazzoli might be approaching.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Andreazzoli is heading towards the exit door, with the club not having won even once in about two months. Former Salernitana boss Davide Nicola is seen as the replacement, with the manager having a tremendous record of having saved Salernitana and Crotone from near-relegation positions.

Nicola hasn’t been employed since his exit from Salernitana, where he was sacked twice but he was brought back to the club days after his first sacking.

Andreazzoli’s sacking would be Empoli’s second of the season, with the club having already sacked Paolo Zanetti earlier in the campaign.
