How Roma can still sign Empoli’s Tommaso Baldanzi

There is still a possibility of Serie A giants Roma signing Empoli star Tommaso Baldanzi this month but the move would depend on outgoings.

Baldanzi is one of the brightest stars in the Italian game right now and the youngster recently scored for his side against Juventus, thereby denting the Bianconeri’s title hopes. Roma have been keen on him and despite the limited time left for the window to close, they could yet land the starlet.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that while Roma remain keen on Baldanzi, they are yet to open talks with Empoli over a move. Contact with the Azzurri will only be made when Roma manage to move on Andrea Belotti and defender Marash Kumbulla. Belotti is close to joining Fiorentina and Kumbulla could join Sassuolo.

Roma first want to be sure of the fact that they can seal the deal for Baldanzi, before making contact with Empoli. Even if time is slipping away, the deal is still in the balance largely because Belotti could be announced as a Fiorentina player today.
