Inter boss Simone Inzaghi believes Juventus clash won’t be decisive in Scudetto race

Inter managed Simone Inzaghi has stated that the upcoming Derby D’Italia clash against Juventus will not be decisive in the title race.

The two title chasing sides take on each other in a gigantic clash tomorrow evening at the San Siro, with Inter currently one point clear at the top of the table while having a game in hand. Juve were held to a draw by Empoli in their previous game, as Inter picked up a close 1-0 win over Fiorentina.

Tomorrow’s clash could see Inter race four points clear at the top of the table while having a game in hand. But Inzaghi believes that the clash will not be decisive in the title race at all.

He said: “We know we have great responsibilities on a daily basis. We played 30 very good matches positively. If I think back to the month of January, we played 5 games in 22 days, the last four away from San Siro and we brought home a trophy that we cared about a lot.”

He further said: “We have to continue, January was intense and positive but we have to look forward. Tomorrow evening we have a great match that we want to make it our own. But it’s an important match, I wouldn’t make comparisons: there are four months to go, it’s not decisive.”

The previous game between the two sides ended in a draw and Juve would prefer the game tomorrow to end in a draw. A loss would mean that they would lose ground in the title race and if Inter win tomorrow and win their game in hand, they would go seven points clear at the top.
