Inter coach Simone Inzaghi to make several changes to squad ahead of Napoli clash

Following the Nerazzurri’s frustrating 3-2 defeat in penalties at the Stadio Metropolitano against Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the Round of 16 of the Champions League, which resulted in last year’s finalists being eliminated from the tournament far earlier than anticipated, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is set to make several changes to his lineup ahead of the Beneamata’s vital clash against Napoli.

With Inter currently 16 points ahead of second-place Milan, the Nerazzurri are only 15 points away from sealing their 20th scudetto and obtaining their second star before their cross-city rivals. As a result, the Biscione are set to put the misery from the shocking defeat against the Spanish giants behind them and focus on their march towards the league-title.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, via FcInterNews, coach Simone Inzaghi is expected to deploy Kristjan Asllani and Davide Fratessi in the midfield in order to rest both Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

In addition, Matteo Darmian is in pole to start on the right flank over Dutchman Denzel Dumfries, whilst Federico Dimarco remains in the left wing-back role against the Partenopei as Carlos Augusto is still unavailable due to injury.

Moreover, Germany youngster Yann Aurel Bisseck is in favour to start over Frenchman Benjamin Pavard, with Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni occupying the two remaining spots within the Nerazzurri back-three.
