Inter resume contract talks for Denzel Dumfries

After an initial breakdown in talks, Serie A leaders Inter have now resumed contract talks for wing-back Denzel Dumfries.

For a while, it seemed as if Dumfries would leave the club in the summer if he did not sign a renewal. But things now seem brighter and he could stay well beyond the summer.

La Gazzetta dello Sport state that last autumn, Dumfries had rejected the chance to sign a renewal beyond 2025. But talks are now back on and more than one contact has taken place between the two parties. The player believes that there are not too many teams out there who can match quality and stature.

Inter are happy to renew his deal and there is optimism that he will stay this summer. Inter’s current offer is the same as it was in the autumn and it stands at €4 million per season. Dumfries had asked for more before, but due to lack of involvement and injuries, things now seem to have changed.
