Inter’s Francesco Acerbi on racism allegations by Juan Jesus: “Nothing racist came out of my mouth”

Inter defender Francesco Acerbi has stated that nothing racist was said by him in the Serie A clash involving the Nerazzurri and Napoli.

Juan Jesus had accused Acerbi of using the n-word against him in the game yesterday, a video showed. After the game, he hinted at the same. Italy removed Acerbi from their squad, citing his own ‘serenity’ as a reason. His agent Federico Pastorello has stated that nothing racist was said.

Acerbi has now spoken up about the accusations. In a chat with Sky Italia very recently, he stated that he never said anything racist and Juan Jesus probably misheard what he said.

“Nothing racist came out of my mouth, it was he who misunderstood. I’m very calm, I’ve been playing for 20 years football and I know what I’m saying”

Even the Azzurri have stated that after a reconstruction, Acerbi stated that he didn’t say anything that was of racist nature. Pastorello has stated that both the players have spoken about it and it was only a misjudgement on the part of the Napoli.
