Inter’s Marcus Thuram establishes himself as signing of the season candidate in Roma win

Serie A league leaders Inter kept their winning run going as Marcus Thuram’s impressive brace helped them beat Roma 4-2.

In the first half, Roma had a 2-1 lead which they probably deserved as Inter were not up to the mark. But in the second half, Inter came alive. Thuram grabbed a brace to make it 3-2, as Alessandro Bastoni tapped home to get the team’s fourth and increased their lead at the top of the table to seven points with a game in hand.

But it was Thuram again, who grabbed the headlines. The Frenchman, who arrived at the club on a free transfer, scored for the third time against Roma this season and he has now contributed to 23 goals in all competitions, scoring 13 times. In fact, he has ten Serie A goals and three have come against Roma.

He has been vital for the side, when it comes to his movement, link-up and space creation, while also combining brilliantly with Lautaro Martinez. He has scored not just against Roma, but against Lazio, Napoli, Milan and Fiorentina, while assisting against Juventus.

He scored and impressed at the same time as when Alejandro Grimaldo scored for Bayer Leverkusen against Bayern Munich, when Granit Xhaka ran the show for the Bundesliga league leaders and Jude Bellingham scored for Real Madrid against Girona. All three players are probably top contenders for being the signing of the season this campaign.
