José Mourinho responds to Roma sacking on social media

José Mourinho has taken to social media late on Tuesday evening, to bid an emotional farewell to all at Serie A giants Roma.

The bombshell announcement regarding Mourinho’s Stadio Olimpico exit, of course, emerged early this morning.

Amid an underwhelming stretch of recent results, and with just months remaining on their headmaster’s terms with the club, the Roma brass came to the decision that the time was right to send the Portuguese on his way.

Giallorossi icon Daniele De Rossi, meanwhile, has since been appointed in his place.

Mourinho, ever the showman, was spotted departing Roma’s training ground for the final time earlier today, with the 60-year-old having made sure to take the time to bid farewell to his many adoring fans:

As alluded to above, though, late this evening, he has taken to social media, to say goodbye to all those of a Roma persuasion who were unable to see him in person on Tuesday.

In a post on his official Instagram account, ‘Mou’ unveiled a video featuring some of the standout moments of his stint in Italy’s capital, alongside the caption:

“Sweat, blood, tears, joy, sadness, love, brothers, history, heart, eternity”
