Serie A giants Juventus have scheduled a meeting with Tiago Djaloโs representatives in the coming days.
According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TMW)ย Juventus had stepped up their pursuit of Lille defender Tiago Djalo in the last few days and overtook league rivals Inter in the transfer race.ย
The Portugueseโs contract with the Ligue 1 side expires at the end of this season and Les Dougues will be content to generate revenue from his sale proceeds now instead of losing him for free.ย
The Nerazzurri were almost certain to land the 23-year-old from next season by agreeing a pre-contract. However, the Old Ladyโs sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli went one step ahead and decided to present the player to manager Massimiliano Allegri this winter. The operation is expected to cost โฌ2-3 million for a permanent transfer to the Turin-based side.
A meeting is planned between both parties after tonightโs Salernitana match as club representatives will travel to meet with the playerโs entourage.ย
Djalo has been out of the game for quite some time due to a Ruptured Cruciate Ligament sustained last March. The Bianconeri are willing to give him time to recover for the remaining part of this campaign and finally deeply him as a starter from the next one. He is tilted to replace Alex Sandro on the starting line-up when he fully recovers.ย
