Juventus working to extend Weston Mckennie’s contract

Serie A giants Juventus are keen on extending Weston Mckennie’s stay at the club.

According to a report by TuttoJuve.com via TMW, Juventus are currently in contact with Weston Mckennie’s entourage to extend the player’s contract with the club. The new contract is set to keep him with the Bianconeri until 2027 or 2028.

The American international was back from injury in the Atalanta match and ended up assisting Juventus’ two goals which helped them get one point from the high-profile match. Mckennie’s performance in the game made him go joint-second in the Serie A assist leader standings alongside the likes of Rafael Leao, Marcus Thuram, Paulo Dybala and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The renewal negotiations are expected to be smooth as the 25-year-old’s family want the player to continue with the Turin-based outfit.

Weston Mckennie first joined Juventus on loan from Schalke where he spent four seasons of his career. Due to his performances, the Bianconeri materialised a permanent transfer for him and has since played for them except for a season-loan away to Leeds United.
