Lazio not considering sacking Maurizio Sarri, club CEO confirms

Lazio are not looking to sack manager Maurizio Sarri despite what is turning out to be a poor season in the Serie A, the club’s CEO Claudio Lotito has confirmed.

The Biancocelesti lost 3-1 to Atalanta and fell to ninth in the Serie A. They are now closer to being outside the top ten than being being in the top four, which is rather alarming for the club considering how last season turned out to be and that they are in the Champions League.

CEO Lotito recently spoke about the position of Sarri, who recently told his players during a training session that they should stick their b***s out and go to Lotito if they have a problem with his methods. Lotito, despite talk of internal strife at the club, stated that Sarri’s future is not in doubt.

He told Corriere dello Sport (via TMW): : “I haven’t understood what the problem is. I’ll deal with it, I’ll take the situation into my own hands, as has happened on other occasions in the past, but today I’m not speaking to anyone. I certainly won’t sack Sarri and I can’t waste time denying nonsense.”

Sarri and Lotito have had issues in the past when it comes to transfers and they also had an argument after Lazio’s knockout from the Conference League last season. There have been transfers over the last three years that have fallen through because of a difference of opinion between the two.
