Lille’s Jonathan David leading race to replace Victor Osimhen at Napoli

Lille striker Jonathan David is currently leading the race to replace Napoli striker Victor Osimhen at the Partenopei.

Osimhen seems likely to leave Napoli in the summer amidst links with the Premier League and Paris Saint-Germain. Napoli are already looking at potential replacements for the Nigerian.

Il Mattino today report that replacing Osimhen will be Napoli’s key priority in the summer, as they want to sign someone who guarantees goals upfront. The key target right now is Lille’s David, who is someone that Napoli have kept tabs on for sometime now.

David’s current contract runs out in the summer of 2025 and his asking price has now dropped to about 40 million, which will help potential suitors and Napoli. Other names have also been linked with the Partenopei but it seems as if David is currently the leading candidate.

The Canada international has been amongst the goals again this season, finding the back of the net 11 times and picking up two assists.
