Massimiliano Allegri on his Juventus future: “The managers will let me know when they have decided the future of Juve”

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri cast a shadow when asked about his future at the club.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference (via TMW) on the eve of Juventus’ clash against Napoli, Massimiliano Allegri reminded the journalists that he is yet to receive communication regarding his future from the club’s management as he assured everyone that he and the team are focused on finishing this season as strongly as possible for now.

He said: “At this moment, apart from the fact that we have not yet spoken about the future with the club and this what must be clear, I still have one year left on my contract. The most important thing is to finish the season in the best possible way, because we still have objectives to achieve. Then, when the managers have decided what the future of Juventus will be, they will let me know.”

The Italian manager wants his side to compete in the Champions League next season which would help the club replenish its financial resources.

The Bianconeri have recovered from last campaign’s underwhelming performances as they are a point clear of 3rd-placed Milan in the league standings. However, they will be of little threat to the league leaders as Inter are currently running away with Scudetto with a 12-point lead. Allegri remarked: “I don’t think about what will happen if we finish second. We have to try to do it, it would be an excellent result that would improve last year’s ranking.

We finished third, if I’m not mistaken: second place would be a good result, even considering the many young people. Making hypotheses about the future makes no sense, we have to think about the present which will be Napoli and then Atalanta. We have to try to score points to go to the Champions League next year: it would be a technical and above all economic added value.”

Bologna boss Thiago Motta has been linked with a move to Juventus and he could become a potential option, if Allegri leaves in the summer.
