Max Allegri on Juventus’ season: “Let’s not forget that top four is our objective”

Juventus boss Max Allegri has stated that finishing inside the top four in the Serie A is the club’s objective this season.

The Bianconeri failed to beat Atalanta earlier today, as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Atalanta despite a rather valiant effort to complete a comeback win. But despite their attempts, they could only get a point and because of Milan’s 1-0 win over Empoli, they fell to third in the table.

Milan have a 16 point gap between themselves and Inter, who are further away from Juve weeks after both being only one point behind the other. Juve have now won just once in seven games and after the game, Allegri iterated that their goal was the top four race.

He told DAZN (via TJ): “Today, however, we gained a point in the standings over Bologna, we held Atalanta to 11 points, let’s not forget that our objective is that of finishing in the top four. We are 10 points away. The team’s performance was good, I can’t blame the boys for anything at all, on the contrary, in a climate in which you were behind in the first half and part of the stadium didn’t help us, in the second half the boys had a good reaction.

“We have to be proud, then we can make some mistakes, we can do better, but the commitment of this team has never been lacking.”

This isn’t the first time that Allegri has spoken about the club’s target being the top four and the way things are going, it does seem as if he is right.
