Serie A giants Milan picked up a 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina in Florence yesterday in what was an action packed game of football.
Interestingly enough, David de Gea was the Man of the Match in the clash and he saved two Milan penalties, denying Theo Hernandez once and then Tammy Abraham, with Yacine Adli and Albert Gudmundsson scoring at either ends of Christian Pulisicโs goal.
Moise Kean had also missed a penalty in the first half, which was was given away by Hernandez, who was sent off after the game for dissent.
Strangely enough, Milan had different penalty takers and Fonseca fumed at the result and the fact that the players changed the penalty takers.
He told DAZN, as relayed by MilanNews: โI love football and I donโt want to contribute to this circus. Everything was a penalty, and Iโm not talking about things for or against, but football is not like that. I donโt want to talk about refereeing.โ
Fonseca revealed that he didnโt want to say anything about the missed penalties and revealed that the teamโs designated penalty taker is Christian Pulisic, but the players made the decision to change that. He has already told the players that it will not happen again.
