Milan reject chance to sign Maurizio Sarri

Serie A giants Milan have recently rejected the chance to make Maurizio Sarri their new manager, as they continue to look for a new boss.

The Rossoneri have obviously been linked with a host of names and after Julen Lopetegui’s candidacy was rejected publicly and outright by fans, their demands seem to be in favour of Antonio Conte and Thiago Motta. But the club continue to see Porto boss Sergio Conceicao as a favourite for the role and talks with his agent have already been held.

Luca Bianchin has reported that amidst this hunt for a new manager, contacts for other managers have also taken place. The club recently spoke to other names and that includes current Portugual boss Roberto Martinez and former midfielder Mark van Bommel as well. Contact was also made with Sarri, who left Lazio some weeks ago, but his profile doesn’t seem to convince them right now and they do not want to hire him.

Conceicao seems the favourite to land the role, with the Portuguese set to meet Porto to potentially seek an exit from the club.
