Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis has revealed optimistic details about a renewal for club star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The Georgian starred for the club recently and he has been important for them even this season, despite his numbers witnessing a slight drop-off. He has been linked with the possibility of signing a new deal with the club, but doubts have been raised constantly.
Club CEO De Laurentiis is an adamant businessman and he recently gave updates about the future of the winger, revealing that there is the willingness on both fronts to continue together at the club.
He told in a recent press conference (via TMW): “Do I renew Kvaratskhelia ? I called his entourage three months ago, we met here in the office in Castel Volturno and I wrote to him what I wanted to do to extend it. The answer was: “President, we’re happy here and we will talk about it at the end of the season” And let’s talk about it at the end of the season! For me it’s the same now or at the end of the season.”
This suggests that talks will be held between the two parties, with Il Mattino having reported yesterday that a meeting could take place in March.
With Piotr Zielinski set to join Inter and Victor Osimhen also inching towards an exit in the summer, Napoli would find it vital to renew Kvaratskhelia’s contract as quickly as possible.
