Napoli fans protest against racism ruling in favour of Inter’s Francesco Acerbi

Napoli and the club’s fans aren’t happy with the Serie A’s judgement in favour of Inter defender Franceesco Acerbi in the recent racism case.

The judgement in the case was provided yesterday and it was in favour of Acerbi, who didn’t face any sanction as no evidence was found of the player racially abusing Juan Jesus. Napoli will not take part in any promotional activities as part of Serie A’s anti-racism campaign this weekend and it seems as if the club’s fans are also enraged.

The club’s fans unfurled a banner at Piazza del Plebiscito yesterday and it sent a clear message to the system that provided the judgement and about Acerbi, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

They said: “Hypocritical system, Acerbi is your emblem,” thereby suggesting that the decision in favour of the Italian is an example of how hypocritical the Serie A’s fight against racism is. In fact, before the game against Atalanta, fans will demonstrate their support for the Brazilian this weekend.
