Serie A champions Napoli are interested in the possibility of signing Stefano Pioli as manager next season.
The season has been a shambles for Napoli, in general and when it comes to managers. Theyโve had two different managers, with both having struggled to match levels of last season. Walter Mazzarriโs contract at the club runs out at the end of the season.
Il Mattino have reported (via CalcioNapoli24) about the clubโs hunt for a new manager, stating that while Antonio Conte remains Aurelio de Laurentiisโ dream, Pioli is also well liked and he is of interest to the Partenopei CEO. De Laurentiis is a big fan of Pioliโs flexibility, pragmatism and an ability to manage well against superior opposition.
Two other Italians who are in the running happen to be Fiorentinaโs Vincenzo Italiano and Atalantaโs Gian Piero Gasperini. La Viola boss Italiano was linked with Napoli even last summer, but a move didnโt go through as the manager rejected the Serie A champions.
