Napoli likely to fail in move for Leicester’s Boubakary Soumare

Napoli might have to wait until the summer transfer window to sign Boubakary Soumare, who is currently on loan at Sevilla from Leicester City.

According to a report by Calcio Napoli 24, Sevilla do not have the slightest intention of terminating Boubakary Soumare’s loan and sent him back to his parent club Leicester City. Napoli’s hopes of landing the French midfielder are squashed for now and they have to wait until the summer to strike a deal with The Foxes.

The Spanish side have not received any communication from the Partenopei regarding a request to end the player’s loan early. Even if the current Scudetto holders were to send one, it is expected to be declined as the Andalucians value the 24-year-old.

Sevilla coach Quique Sanchez Flores has put a lot of confidence in Soumare after the farewell of former midfielder and captain Fernando who mutually terminated his contract with the club. He took a few days off from training citing personal reasons but rumours spurred linking him to Napoli.

Three weeks are still left in this transfer window and it remains to be seen how Aurelio De Laurentiis handles the situation.
