Nicolò Barella on Inter’s win vs Lazio: “We had fun like we haven’t had in a long time”

After Inter’s rampant Super Cup semi-final 3-0 win against Lazio this evening, Nicolò Barella offered his thoughts on the victory.

As reported by Mediaset, (via TMW), Barella said: “Really nice game, we had fun like we haven’t had in a long time against a difficult opponent. Today we were good, everyone wanted the ball. We are what we wanted to be since the beginning of the year, we want to win this cup and keep working to do well in the championship. I would have liked to have scored, but I like to be useful for the team, the rest doesn’t matter.”

Inter ran away with the game and were dominant, holding 61% of the possession and having 23 shots in comparison to Lazio’s five. Lazio couldn’t even muster a shot on target.

Marcus Thuram opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a close range effort. Inter finished the job in the second half with goals from Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Davide Frattesi to secure their place in Monday’s final.

The Nerazzurri will face Napoli on Monday, after they also comfortably won 3-0 against Fiorentina last night. After a miserable tenure so far, a trophy would go a long way to helping Walter Mazzarri and redeeming Napoli’s season.

A win in the final would be a big confidence boost for Inter before three huge league games against Fiorentina, Roma and Juventus that could decide this season’s league title.
