OFFICIAL | Daniele de Rossi set for long-term Roma stay

Daniele de Rossi has impressed since taking over at Serie A giants Roma and he is now set to continue at the club beyond this season.

De Rossi has lost only one game as manager in the Serie A and that loss came against Inter, when the Giallorossi actually had a 2-1 lead till the first half until the game turned around. They take on Milan later today in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final and they are 1-0 up on aggregate.

But even a loss can’t take away how well De Rossi has done at Roma, with the club’s owners Friedkins now having announced on the club’s website that the Italian has impressed them enough to stay for the longer term.

They said: “After meeting yesterday afternoon with Daniele De Rossi, we are delighted to announce he will continue as Head Coach of AS Roma after this season and for the foreseeable future.”

The relationship between the two parties is said to be excellent and De Rossi’s keen knowledge of English perhaps helps in that. The statement goes on to state that the Italian will be the Roma manager for the longer term.

“In his short tenure as Head Coach, the positive impact that his leadership has brought to the entire club has told its own story. Daniele leads with respect and courage, while his strength and deep-rooted belief in the club are truly aligned with Roma’s values, city and unparalleled fans.

We will continue to work together as hard as we possibly can to deliver a future that AS Roma’s fans deserve. We couldn’t be happier to build a long-term project with Daniele.”
