OFFICIAL | Inter’s Francesco Acerbi avoids sanction in racism case

Inter defender Francesco Acerbi has now avoided a sanction or ban in the racism case in the Serie A.

Sky Italia have confirmed the result of the case involving Acerbi and Napoli’s Juan Jesus. It is official that the Italian has been acquitted. That is due to a lack of evidence in the case which convinced the prosecutors into believing that he didn’t make racist remarks against the Brazilian defender.

As a result, Acerbi will not be sanctioned and it is now official. It was previously feared that if the player was found guilty of racism, he would be banned for a minimum of ten games or would be handed a fixed term suspension. Acerbi had previously stated that his words were misunderstood by Jesus, who was clear in his stance that he was racially abused in the game last weekend.

This could mean that Acerbi’s future at Inter is still very much secure.
