Roma boss Daniele de Rossi on his future: “I’m enjoying this job”

Roma’s current manager Daniele de Rossi has revealed that he has enjoyed managing the Serie A giants so far even though his future remains uncertain.

The Giallorossi progressed to the Round of 16 of the Europa League yesterday, as they picked up a dramatic win over Feyenoord on penalties. The game had ended 2-2 on aggregate but the Giallorossi slayed their penalty shoot-out demons and won against the Dutch giants again.

De Rossi was asked about his time at the club and his future after the game. He said: “The exams never end. We have one every three days, but I don’t feel like I’m being tested. To motivate the kids, I talk about willpower. I have to sprint, I don’t think about how long it will last. I’m enjoying this job and sometimes it bothers me to think about Torino, because I would like to enjoy an evening like this. We don’t fill the Circus Maximus, but we must be happy with nights like these.”

De Rossi has done well in his stint, impressing many and imposing a tactical identity to the side. Under him, the side have lost only once so far and that defeat came against Inter as they did put in a spirited performance. They recently beat Frosinone in the league despite not impressing much, but their next game could be a stiff challenge when they take on Ivan Juric’s Torino.
