Roma inching closer to Daniele de Rossi’s renewal

Serie A giants Roma are inching closer to handing Daniele de Rossi a new deal to keep him at the club beyond this season.

The Italian has been hugely impressive since having replaced Jose Mourinho at the helm. While De Rossi arrived at the club on a short-term deal, the side’s performances have made sure that Roma are in a Champions League race and the manager could stay well beyond this season.

Sky Italia report that De Rossi signing a new deal with Roma is only a matter of time right now, with the club having been impressed not just with the results but with the style of play on offer from De Rossi’s side. It is said that there is not a single person at Roma who isn’t thinking about the future with De Rossi and that is the positive effect he has had at the Roman giants.

The recent win over Lazio in the Derby della Capital was another proof of how De Rossi is well in tune with ideas about modern day football, having overseen only two losses in all competitions since his arrival at the club.
