Roma make contact for Empoli’s Tommaso Baldanzi

Roma are interested in Empoli star Tommaso Baldanzi and have made initial contact for the midfielder.

The young Italian has been linked with a host of sides in recent weeks and has already played for the senior Italian national team. Gianluca di Marzio has provided an update about his future.

Roma have made initial contact and while they haven’t spoken to Empoli, they have held talks with the player’s agent ahead of a potential move. Empoli do not want to loan the player out, but contacts between Roma and the attacking midfielder’s entourage have been rather positive.

Before potentially going for Baldanzi, Roma would have to sell players and the move is likely to be aimed for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Baldanzi was a star for the Azzurri in the Under-20s World Cup, where he scored two goals in seven appearances. He has been a bright spot for Empoli, having drawn comparisons to Paulo Dybala.
