Roma’s Diego Llorente after 2-2 draw against Fiorentina: “We didn’t put in a good performance”

Roma defender Diego Llorente has stated that the Giallorossi weren’t good enough in the club’s 2-2 Serie A draw against Fiorentina.

Llorente grabbed a brilliant, late goal to help Roma pick up a point against La Viola. Fiorentina had gone ahead through Luca Ranieri and Houssem Aouar had drawn level for Roma. Rolando Mandragora put Fiorentina back ahead in the 69th minute and Mile Svilar later denied Cristiano Biraghi from the spot, as Llorente scored with what was essentially the last touch of the game.

The Spaniard spoke to DAZN (via TMW) after the game and spoke about the performance, saying: “I’m happy for the goal, but today we didn’t have a good performance. Mancini, Paredes, Ndicka many with yellows but the team with confidence took a good point for our journey. Svilar gave a good performance, with him we can do big things.”

Llorente also spoke about the club’s race for the top four, saying that they will treat every game like it is their last.

“With this character you arrive, every race must be like the last of the season.”

Because of the draw, Roma remained at fifth in the table and are three points behind fourth-placed Bologna but only one point ahead of sixth-placed Atalanta.
