Sergio Conceicao pushing for Porto exit in favour of Milan move

Sergio Conceicao is pushing for an exit from Porto to join Serie A side Milan.

According to a report by Marco Fallisi of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sergio Conceicao is set to meet with club president Andre Villas-Boas tomorrow to end his tenure as head coach of Porto mutually. Following the exit, he will join Milan as Stefano Pioli will be relieved of his duties.

Hiring Conceicao will not put extra-budgetary pressure on the Rossoneri as he will sign the contract of €4 million net per season initially offered to Julen Lopetegui, who joined West Ham for next season.

The Milan management feel that the Portuguese is the perfect man to be appointed to the team’s helm as his preferred formation is 4-2-3-1, which coincides with the choice of the players.

Paulo Fonseca and Mark van Bommel were the other managers on the Rossoneri’s shortlist for the managerial role.
