Analyzing Juventusโ€™ transfer business before the start of Serie A

Juventus are in a weird position at the moment. They do not seem to be at the level capable of winning the league presently but they could give it a good go in the title race. They have Igor Tudor permanently in charge now. Let us look at their transfer business.

Major incomings:

โ€“ Francisco Conceiรงรฃo, Right Winger, From FC Porto, โ‚ฌ32m
โ€“ Nico Gonzรกlez, Right Winger, From Fiorentina, โ‚ฌ28.1m
โ€“ Michele Di Gregorio, Goalkeeper, From Monza, โ‚ฌ14.3m
โ€“ Pierre Kalulu, Centre-Back, From AC Milan, โ‚ฌ14.3m
โ€“ Joรฃo Mรกrio, Right-Back, From FC Porto, โ‚ฌ12.6m
โ€“ Jonathan David, Centre-Forward, From LOSC Lille, Free transfer

Major Outgoings:

โ€“ Nicolรฒ Rovella, Defensive Midfield, To Lazio, โ‚ฌ17m
โ€“ Alberto Costa, Right-Back, To FC Porto, โ‚ฌ15m
โ€“ Nicolรฒ Fagioli, Central Midfield, To Fiorentina, โ‚ฌ13.5m
โ€“ Samuel Mbangula, Left Winger, To Werder Bremen, โ‚ฌ10m
โ€“ Luca Pellegrini, Left-Back, To Lazio, โ‚ฌ4m
โ€“ Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, Central Midfield, To Venezia, โ‚ฌ3.5m
โ€“ Timothy Weah, Right Winger, To Marseille, Loan fee: โ‚ฌ1m

How have they done? :

A large chunk of their business has been about making loan moves permanent. The main ones have been Di Gregorio and Conceicao. They have made a good signing in Jonathan David who can take up the role of the number 9 or play alongside. Joao Mario is a high potential signing at RB. However, perhaps the most important thing they have done is keeping hold of Kenan Yildiz and Andrea Cambiaso who could form the cornerstone of the side for the next year at the very least.

What remains to be done? :

The main thing that needs to be done is completing the signing of Randal Kolo Muani. The Frenchman was very impressive in his loan spell with the Bianconeri and the saga to bring him to Turin permanently has been taking place throughout the window. The same can be said about the sale of Dusan Vlahovic who still doesnโ€™t have a concrete offer from anywhere to leave. It also seems like Juve will sell Nico Gonzalez to Atletico Madrid and in that case would want to sign another attacker.
