Milan set sights on Liverpool outcast Darwin Nunez

With the Rossonerri seeking a high-quality forward to enhance the quality up-top ahead of next season, Milan have short-listed Liverpool outcast Darwin Nunez and are monitoring the situation of the Uruguayan international.ย

La Gazzetta dello Sportย reports that with the London reds set to part-ways with the 25-year-old after an underwhelming three-year stint since arriving from Benfica in the summer of 2022, the Rossonerri have opened their tabs and are earmarking the โ‚ฌ45m striker.ย

Despite Nunez having a horrendous season in which he only slotted five goals and three assists in 30 games-played in the Premier League, Milan view the former Benfica forward as an ideal candidate that could either play as a sole-striker deployed up-top or partner-up alongside Santiago Gimenez in a two-forward formation.ย

As it stands, the Uruguayan has attracted the interest of Napoli as Conte seeks a back-up to Belgian marksman Romelu Lukaku, as well as several Saudi oufits intrigued by the idea of bringing in Nunez.ย

Whilst Juventusโ€™ Dusan Vlahovic and Matteo Retegui of Atalanta remain at the top of Milanโ€™s priorities for their significant striker signing, the arrival of Nunez is beginning to emerge as a concrete possibility.
