Roma continue inching closer towards acquiring Manchester United outcast and former Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee, as an attempt for the Giallorossi to resolve their grave goal-scoring crisis.
La Gazzetta dello Sportย reports that the Dutch international seems increasingly destined to join the Capital club on a loan which would turn into an obligation to buy only if Roma qualify for next yearโs Champions League at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
After a rough season and a half since joining the Red Devils from Bologna, Zirkzee is keen for a return to the Serie A in an attempt to find form ahead of the 2026 World Cup this summer.ย
So far this season, the 24 year-old has only made five appearances for Ruben Amorimโs side, further intensifying his eagerness to part ways with the Premier League giants.
In the event that Roma are unable to land Zirkzee, sporting director Ricky Massara has identified Franculino Dju as an alternative, 21 year-old Guinean international whom has amassed 14 goals in 15 games for Midtjylland thus far in the domestic season.
