Milan considering Antonio Conte as replacement for Max Allegri

Serie A side Milan have made a host of changes across the board and Max Allegriโ€™s second stint at the club has now ended in just a season. The failure to qualify for the Champions League has led to these decisions and a replacement is being sought for the Italian.

Antonio Conte is among the candidates for that, with MilanNews reporting this.

The Italian has left Napoli, who confirmed the exit today. Roberto Mancini is closing in on the Italy national team job, which rules Conte out of contention for that. But he is among the names being considered by the Rossoneri, as things stand.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the man who will be tasked with making this call, having played a big role in the sackings of Allegri, Giorgio Furlani and Igli Tare.

Milan should seek project manager

One canโ€™t really figure out what Milanโ€™s plan is. They have tried project managers and have tried someone who can bring instant impact. But none of it has worked. That is a big red flag, when it comes to questions about the ownership.

While Conte could be another quick-fix manager, he would be another one who will hide the real issues at the club. Milan need a long-term plan under a manager of Vincenzo Italianoโ€™s ilk, as they will build for the future, progress in a sustained way, develop younger players and then win silverware.
