Serie A side Milan remain in the hunt for a new manager and a move to land Oliver Glasner could now be gaining momentum.
With Andoni Iraola all but set to join Liverpool, the Rossoneri have been forced to seek alternatives and this has led to Glasnerโs candidacy gaining ground.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the former Crystal Palace manager is high up on Milanโs shortlist. A deal is far from done and the financials are yet to be fully ironed out, but a meeting is expected with the Austrian early next week. Glasnerโs staff will also be presented and they will presented a thoroughly researched plan for the Rossoneri during the discussions.
Transfer plans and sporting ideas will be discussed, with the meeting described as a likely job interview.

Sporting director appointment more important
There is no doubt that Glasner can end up being an impressive appointment for Milan, the clubโs sporting identity shouldnโt be formed by the manager. This makes the sporting directorโs appointment more important, with Ralf Rangnick the current favourite to take over.
His opinion should be sought accurately about the next manager or this will led to further rifts in the upper management. Ideally, a sporting director should be present during a โjob interviewโ for the manager and that wonโt be the case next week.
